Chicago Brewery Tour Party Bus
Hit 4-6 Craft Breweries in One Night – No Designated Driver Needed
Chicago's craft brewery scene has exploded over the past decade, transforming the city into one of America's premier beer destinations. From Goose Island's iconic flagship location to hidden gem breweries in Logan Square and Pilsen, the city offers hundreds of unique beers you won't find anywhere else. The only problem? Visiting multiple breweries in one night means someone has to be the designated driver and miss out on the tastings.
That's where Royal Carriage Limousine's brewery tour party bus changes everything. Your group of beer enthusiasts gets a private party bus, a professional driver who knows Chicago breweries inside and out, and the freedom to taste every IPA, stout, sour, and lager without worrying about Uber waits or parking nightmares. We'll visit 4-6 breweries in a single night, your cooler stays stocked with BYOB drinks between stops, and everyone arrives home safely. This is how Chicago's craft beer scene is meant to be experienced.
Chicago's Best Brewery Tour Stops
Our drivers have been running brewery tours since 2005, long before Chicago's craft beer explosion. These are the eight breweries our groups request most often – each offering unique beers, great atmospheres, and the kind of Chicago character that makes brewery hopping unforgettable.
Goose Island Wrigleyville
The flagship that started Chicago's craft beer revolution. This 3,000 square foot tasting room features 60+ taps pouring everything from the classic 312 Urban Wheat Ale to experimental barrel-aged stouts that beer nerds travel from across the country to try. The Bourbon County Brand Stout release each November creates lines around the block. Located steps from Wrigley Field, it's the perfect first or last stop on any Chicago brewery tour.
Revolution Brewing Logan Square
Chicago's largest independent brewery, Revolution serves award-winning beers in a massive brewpub that feels like a beer hall. Anti-Hero IPA is their flagship, but the deep pour menu features 40+ rotating taps including barrel-aged rarities. Full food menu means you can grab dinner here. The Logan Square location is the original – locals know it's superior to the Avondale production facility.
Half Acre Balmoral
One of Chicago's most respected breweries, Half Acre's Balmoral taproom offers 20+ beers on tap in a modern, airy space that's perfect for groups. Daisy Cutter Pale Ale put them on the map, but their experimental releases show serious brewing creativity. The beer garden is open May through September, and the attached restaurant serves upscale pub food that pairs perfectly with their beers.
Off Color Brewing Mousetrap
For the adventurous beer drinker. Off Color specializes in Belgian-style beers, wild ales, and sours that challenge what beer can be. The Mousetrap taproom in Lincoln is quirky, artistic, and feels like a beer speakeasy. Apex Predator farmhouse ale and Troublesome gose are gateway beers, but true enthusiasts come for their barrel-aged wild ales. Not your typical brewery tour stop – that's exactly why it's memorable.
Empirical Brewery Chicago
Data-driven brewing meets creative experimentation. Empirical uses scientific methods to craft highly drinkable beers with unexpected flavor profiles. Their Ravenswood taproom offers 20+ rotating taps, regular food pop-ups, and one of the most welcoming brewery atmospheres in Chicago. The Sunday Sessions series features live music and is wildly popular with locals.
Marz Community Brewing
Bridgeport's industrial brewery with a punk rock attitude. Marz pushes boundaries with collaborations, can designs that look like street art, and beers that range from crushable lagers to pastry stouts loaded with adjuncts. The taproom hosts DJ nights, art shows, and community events. It's a brewery that feels like a cultural hub, not just a place to drink beer.
Dovetail Brewery Ravenswood
European-style lagers executed with precision. If you're tired of hop-heavy IPAs, Dovetail is your sanctuary. They focus on Czech and German lager traditions – pilsners, helles, dunkels, and Vienna lagers that showcase malt complexity and brewing skill. The taproom is elegant and minimalist, perfect for groups who want to actually taste and discuss beer instead of just getting buzzed.
Hop Butcher for the World
The hype-beast brewery that beer traders obsess over. Originally a gypsy brewery, Hop Butcher now has a permanent taproom in North Center. They're known for ultra-limited IPA releases with creative names and label art. Lines form for can releases, but visiting the taproom gives you access to beers that sell out in hours. If someone in your group follows beer Instagram, they've heard of Hop Butcher.
Brewery Tour Routes
We offer three popular routes that hit Chicago's brewery neighborhoods, though every tour can be customized based on your beer preferences and group dynamics. These sample routes show how we maximize brewery diversity while minimizing drive time.
North Side Classics (4 hours)
Goose Island Wrigleyville → Half Acre Balmoral → Dovetail Ravenswood
The accessible introduction to Chicago craft beer. This route hits three very different breweries – Goose Island for mainstream craft recognition, Half Acre for creative pale ales and IPAs, and Dovetail for precision lagers. Perfect for groups with mixed beer knowledge levels. Total drive time between stops: 25 minutes. Time at each brewery: 60-75 minutes. This is our most popular corporate team outing route.
Logan Square Deep Dive (3 hours)
Revolution Brewing → Off Color Mousetrap → Hop Butcher
Stay in one of Chicago's hippest neighborhoods and experience three very different brewery philosophies. Revolution for crowd-pleasing beers and food, Off Color for Belgian-style experimentation, Hop Butcher for limited-release IPA hype. This compact route minimizes drive time (15 minutes total) and maximizes drinking time. Ideal for bachelor/bachelorette parties who want efficiency and Instagram-worthy stops.
Cross-Chicago Beer Journey (5 hours)
Marz Bridgeport → Empirical Ravenswood → Goose Island Wrigleyville → Revolution Logan Square
The ultimate Chicago brewery tour hitting four neighborhoods and four completely distinct brewery experiences. Marz brings the edge, Empirical brings the science, Goose Island brings the history, Revolution brings the volume and food. Total drive time: 45 minutes. This route shows visitors the full spectrum of Chicago's craft beer culture and is popular for out-of-town groups visiting for weddings or conferences.
Why Party Bus for Brewery Tours
You could try to coordinate Ubers between breweries, navigate parking in Logan Square on a Saturday night, or draw straws for who's the designated driver. Or you could book a party bus and actually enjoy Chicago's brewery scene the way it's meant to be experienced.
Drink at Every Stop Without Driving
The entire point of a brewery tour is tasting different beers. When someone has to stay sober to drive, they're missing the experience. With a party bus, everyone gets to enjoy flights, pints, and growler purchases without anxiety about who's driving or whether you're over the limit.
Group Stays Together
Coordinating multiple Ubers between breweries is chaos. Someone's always in a different car, bathroom breaks split the group, and by the third brewery half your crew is at the wrong location. Your party bus keeps everyone together, departure times are controlled, and nobody gets left behind at Half Acre waiting for a ride that went to Revolution instead.
Luggage Space for Growler Hauls
Serious beer enthusiasts bring coolers and leave with growlers, crowlers, and limited-release cans. Try fitting that in an Uber Pool. Your party bus has dedicated storage space for all the beer you're bringing back, plus room for the cooler you brought for drinks between breweries.
Driver Knows Brewery Hours and Loading Zones
Brewery hours vary wildly. Some close at 10pm, others run until midnight. Some have parking, others require street parking three blocks away. Our drivers know which breweries have loading zones, which neighborhoods have parking nightmares, and how to time your tour so you're not showing up 20 minutes before closing.
No Parking Nightmares
Logan Square on Saturday night? Wrigleyville during baseball season? Finding parking near popular breweries is miserable. Your party bus driver drops you at the door, finds parking, and returns when your group is ready. You spend time drinking beer, not circling blocks looking for spots.
Group Sizes and Pricing
We offer three party bus sizes for brewery tours, each with a 3-hour minimum booking. Most brewery tours run 4-5 hours to comfortably visit 3-4 breweries with time to enjoy each stop.
Sprinter Party Bus
Up to 12 People
$225/hour
Perfect for intimate brewery tours with close friends or small corporate teams. Leather seating, Bluetooth audio, climate control. The most maneuverable option for tight Logan Square streets. Ideal for 2-3 brewery stops over 3-4 hours.
Mini Party Bus
Up to 20 People
$250/hour
Our most popular brewery tour size. Large enough for a full friend group, small enough to feel intimate. Premium sound, LED lighting, and ample cooler space for BYOB between stops. Can comfortably visit 3-4 breweries in a 4-hour tour.
Full Party Bus
Up to 30 People
$275/hour
For larger groups, corporate outings, or brewery enthusiast clubs. Full party atmosphere between brewery stops, room for everyone to spread out, and enough space for serious growler hauls. Best for 4-5 brewery tours with a 5-hour booking.
All brewery tours require 3-hour minimum. Most groups book 4-5 hours. Add $50/hour for holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving weekend). Gratuity for driver not included – 15-20% standard.

BYOB Policy Clarification
This is important: Royal Carriage Limousine does not serve alcohol on our party buses. We provide the luxury transportation and professional driving – you provide your own drinks for consumption between brewery stops.
Here's how it works: Your group brings coolers, beer, wine, or liquor of your choice. You're responsible for ice, cups, and mixers. While traveling between breweries, you're welcome to drink from your personal supply. Once we arrive at each brewery stop, you'll be purchasing tastings, flights, and pints directly from the brewery.
The advantage of BYOB between stops: You're not paying bar prices for drinks during travel time, you can bring exactly what your group likes, and there's no liquor license restrictions on what you carry. The brewery stops are where you taste new beers, support Chicago's craft beer scene, and discover your next favorite brewery.
Important: Illinois law prohibits open containers while the vehicle is in motion on public roads. Your driver will clarify local regulations and ensure compliance. In practice, this means finishing drinks before the bus leaves each brewery parking lot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we customize which breweries we visit?
Absolutely! During your booking consultation, we'll work with you to design a custom brewery route based on your beer preferences, group size, and timing. Whether you want IPAs at Revolution, sours at Off Color, or lagers at Dovetail, we'll build your perfect Chicago brewery tour. Our drivers know the city's 100+ breweries and can recommend hidden gems based on your taste.
Do the breweries require reservations?
Most Chicago breweries operate first-come-first-served for groups under 15 people. For larger groups (15+), we recommend calling ahead to ensure they can accommodate your party. Our drivers know which breweries get crowded on Friday/Saturday nights and can suggest timing to avoid hour-long waits for tables. Revolution and Half Acre can get particularly busy on weekends.
What is the minimum number of hours for a brewery tour?
Brewery tours require a 3-hour minimum, though most groups book 4-5 hours. You'll want 45-60 minutes per brewery to enjoy tastings, order food if available, use restrooms, and purchase growlers. A 4-hour tour comfortably fits 3-4 breweries with travel time. A 5-hour tour allows for 4-5 breweries or longer stays at favorites.
Can a corporate group get invoiced instead of paying upfront?
Yes! We offer corporate invoicing for business groups, team outings, and company events. Contact us at (224) 801-3090 to set up a corporate account. We'll need company information, billing contact, and can typically extend NET-15 payment terms. We provide detailed receipts and can break down costs by service for your accounting department.
What if one of our planned breweries is closed?
Our drivers monitor brewery hours in real-time and will suggest alternatives if a planned stop is closed unexpectedly (rare, but it happens – private events, equipment failures, or surprise closures). We always have backup breweries in mind when planning routes. That's the advantage of local expertise – we adapt on the fly to ensure your tour stays fun and your group keeps discovering great Chicago beer.
